I happened upon a yearbook from 1961 and noticed for the first time how positive yearbooks are. Stitched from an actual signature, on a cheery yellow vintage shirt, “I Like You Lots” is one of two works inspired by that particular book. When someone signs another’s yearbook, they most often reminisce about the good times shared, complement each other’s character, and wish wonderful things for their futures. When the owner of the yearbook reads these notes, it is written on their hearts. It becomes part of who they are in that moment, and what they project. Wouldn’t it be a delight if we were still able to get a collection of such correspondence at the end of every year?
